FLFBS 114 Fat Boy Undertaker

The original Fat Boy is a gleaming chrome beauty with a stocky front end and a fat 160 front tyre. A beautiful motorbike in itself. But Thunderbike took on the Fat Boy and transformed it into the Undertaker. A classy bike through and through, high-quality and timeless. The Undertaker plays with the contrast of chrome and black. The finest components are installed, the paintwork is elaborate and gives the motorbike a truly imperial look, but ultimately understated.

Instead of a fat front wheel and flat handlebars, the front is now dominated by a narrow front tyre and really fat handlebars. The 2-inch 2STR8UP from Kodlin continues the stocky look of the fork upwards, making everything look almost as if it has been cast from a single mould. The fact that the entire front is now covered in black instead of chrome further emphasises this effect. The 18" front wheel has been replaced by a 21" version: The front wheel is a Revel, from Performance Machine, in Platinum Cut with a 130 Metzeler ME 888 Marathon Ultra tyre. What a sight! The all-black front end is perfectly complemented by the Revel front wheel with its alternating black and polished surfaces. So that nothing stands in the way of this look, the front wheel is barely covered by the minimal and very short GRP fender from Thunderbike.

The engine and exhaust are also largely cloaked in black. The Race Series from Performance Machine with rocker box, cam and derby covers in combination with the Grand Classic air filter from Thunderbike give the engine a completely new look. And because such a classy motorbike also needs a classy exhaust, the choice fell on a system from Dr Jekill & Mr Hyde: Shorty silencers with matching manifolds in matt black. But Thunderbike also combines the contrasts in the drivetrain. Where the chrome primary cover rebelliously sparkles brightly, in contrast the black exhaust hides under the dark side of the force.

And it is precisely this contrast that continues on the rear wheel. With its large surface area, the 8.5-inch-wide rim sets the perfect stage for the interplay of black and polished surfaces. The original 240 tyres had to make way for a 260 Marathon Ultra, while the TXT Short Fender provides a clear view of the magnificent rear end. Thanks to an air suspension system from Legend Air, this sits extremely low when stationary. Before riding, the motorbike is raised using a switch. This is hidden under the tank at the height of the ignition coil. Of course, Thunderbike has the right bracket in its range to make the necessary space.

There is so much more to describe. The Speedliner floorboards from Arlen Ness, the brake discs from Galfer, the Base Grips from Thunderbike or even the side licence plate holder, the front indictors and the 3in1 rea indicators from the same company. But above all is the paintwork from Chiko's Pinstriping. And here we like to quote Thunderbike: "Chiko's Pinstriping has created the colour scheme for this. Its dark, discreet, but not gloomy. Anything but screamingly colourful, but it's not just black either." There's no better way to describe it.
